Kirsten Allen is a business and strategy consultant with a focus on philanthropy and community. She has over ten years of hands-on experience spanning multiple industries, including real estate, mental health, and both the nonprofit and private sectors.
Most recently, she was an Impact Investment Associate at full-service real estate development firm, Weller Development Company. In this role, Kirsten focused on measuring and reporting the social and environmental performance and progress of the multi-billion dollar Port Covington real estate development project in South Baltimore. As a native Baltimorean, Kirsten served as a crucial bridge between the developer and community members who would be directly affected by the development. In addition to being a broker for community access to essential resources, Kirsten conceptualized, developed, and implemented programs designed to create pathways to employment for those facing societal barriers.
Driven by her passion for uplifting her community, Kirsten Allen is also the founder of Meraki Community Uplift, a nonprofit organization serving the Oliver community of East Baltimore and its surrounding neighborhoods. Through Meraki Community Uplift, she developed a distribution system for local and organically grown produce from her urban farm, resulting in greater access to fresh foods for people living in food deserts.
In recognition of her steadfast commitment to her community, Kirsten Allen was named the 2019 Black Philanthropist of the Year by the Young Black and Giving Back Institute. She also serves as a board member for the Baltimore Children and Youth Fund, and Baltimore City’s Intergenerational Women’s Commission.
Kirsten earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Coppin State University. She currently resides in her hometown of Baltimore, MD.
